Senate Approves Body Search of Kids, Drones Can Kill & You Are a Terrorist—The Josh Tolley Show
Police and school officials can now body search your kid without your knowledge and without cause. You may be a terrorist and not even know it, and a drone could kill you for it.
A Washington state bill, S.B. 5618, that would allow police officers, or "school resource officers," to search students without probable cause or parental consent, passed the State Senate Monday, 30-19.
The legislation would allow police to search a student's person, locker and possessions if they are believed to be violating the law or any school rule. Searches are already mandatory under state law if a student is suspected of possessing a firearm.
Currently under Washington state law, if a school employee has a reasonable suspicion to search a student, they have the right, but a police officer serving as a school resource officer cannot search a student without probable cause.
NOw i am not for the searching of students without regards to parental notice or physically being there or even counsel but this, though misguided, isn't anything new...in CA i was subject to search as were all my friends and any belongs including lockers for any reason back in the day...did it put a bad taste in my mouth? yes...do i respect the police or "school resource officers"? no...do i think it's a grand government conspiracy? no...do i think the government wants to profit through criminal statutes and the selling of the prison industrial complex to private industry? absolutely
